Check-in for the first session begins at 8:30 AM. All participantsmust check-in at least 15 minutes priorto their simulation time slot.
When You Register:
- Choose a VDT® Simulation time. If you choose a morning simulation, your recap will be at noon, and if you choose an afternoon simulation, your recap will be at 3:30 pm. There is a limited number of simulation spots available.
- Indicate which educational session(s) you will be attending.They are not required, and there is no limit to how many sessions you sign up for.

The market for buyers and sellers over 50 years old is booming. This June, to help you better understand and have compassion for the needs of your senior clientele, RRES is bringing you a special complimentary program from Senior Star.
Become a well-informed resource on aging sensitivity. Learn about basic signs of memory loss, how to help families in conflict and how to understand the cognitive process of older adults. Real-life examples and interactive discussions will provide you with the knowledge of how to be an effective ambassador for older adults and adult children.
We will be offering 4 one-hour education sessions along with the ability to participate in the VDT® Simulation, a five-minute interactive experience.
The Virtual Dementia Tour® Simulation
A product of Second Wind Dreams®, Senior Star staff is trained to provide the Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT®) Simulation*. Through the simulation, you will become a well-informed resource on aging sensitivity. Learn about basic signs of memory loss, how to help families in conflict and how to understand the cognitive process of older adults. Real-life examples and interactive discussions will provide you with the knowledge of how to be an effective ambassador for older adults and adult children.

Educational Sessions
Understanding Memory Loss | 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Gain an understanding of dementia and Alzheimer’s vs. normal memory loss. This program will touch upon causes, symptoms, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s and dementia. Participants will also gain a greater understanding of how to live with dementia by providing a summary of support group advice and a listing of resources.
Senior Housing 101 | 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Get to know key terminology and housing options for adults 55 and older, as well as the types of resources to seek out based on personal circumstances. This will also include discussions on recognizing aging sensitivity and when, where and how to look for viable housing options.
Communication With A Family in Conflict | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Learn how to recognize when family members are dealing with a crisis or conflict, particularly when it involves an older parent. Participants will be able to identify the characteristics of positive and negative conflict, identify barriers and create healthy boundaries that will improve the ability to communicate.
What’s In Your Tool Box? Getting Organized & Resources | 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Master strategies for organizing care and helping to find appropriate resources to take care of an older adult. Participants will also learn effective communication strategies and active listening skills that will help them be more prepared to present the best resources and options.
